I’ve had a fairly unorthodox trajectory as an artist thus far, so in the hopes of placing my practice in context, this page features some of the many bands I’ve played in. I’ve been in bands since I was a kid, and those experiences were formative for me. I think everyone should play in a band at some point- there are too many musicians in bands!

This isn’t a definitive list by any means, there were loads more, most of whom existed before digital recording was available to us, drifting around somewhere on lost cassette tapes.

Judi Chicago

Formed in 2006, and still exists! This is my favorite band I’ve ever been in so it goes at the top of this page. We are still playing and making new music when we get the chance, so click this here button below to hear Judi new and old.

That's funny, 'cause I was just wondering when kids in Georgia were going to start making insane '88-style acid house in bands named after misspelled 70s feminist artists. -Vice Magazine

One of Atlanta’s perennially beloved underground art-punk/experimental/house/techno bands -The Atlantan Magazine

It’s a blend of electronic sounds and textures with experimental, art-punk, psychedelic, pop, and disco soundscapes creating a mash-up of vivacious and witty music to get you sweaty on the dance floor. Judi Chicago’s live performances have been their catapult to success, as the trio unleashes the unexpected on stage while the audience falls in love with them over and over again. -Performer Magazine

Deadpanned rhymes follow Beck-like abstractions to odd and eloquent conclusions, and the beats reference early house, techno and electro while keeping it coarse around the edges. This concoction works well, as everything gets delivered with a nod, a wink and some extra bite -Remix Magazine

The missing link connecting Sly Stone, Johnny Rotten, the Happy Mondays and Art Brut. -Insite Atlanta

Kid Pyramid / Ben Coleman

Kid Pyramid is/was a pseudonym for my solo work and remixes, also occasionally released under my given name.

Bang Trim

Atlanta GA musical trio from 2016-2018. Self-identified as “a band that loops and layers pop-tones in real time, for kicks”. Like Psychic Drivers (below), but with more hooks, two more hands, a mini-moog, and a lot more fuzz..

Psychic Drivers

An Atlanta, GA based musical duo from 2014-2016, creating spontaneous pop compositions in the studio.

Noot D’ Noot

I was a member of Noot d’ Noot Mark 3 from around 2010-2014, fulfilling my lifelong goal of releasing an Acid House / Glam Rock crossover single (video below).

"With a band name like Noot D’Noot you’d expect something bizarre, but their fourth album is beyond any description, bringing glam rock, acid rock, New Orleans influences, weirded out R&B and hip-hop to a place where even the hippest of hipsters would be stumped. With serious indie cred and even Grammy nominees involved, the music is top notch and the ideas pull from all sides of the rock spectrum. The result is a kaleidoscopic party album that could have been penned in the ’70s – or maybe 2070." - Inforty

Early Modern Witch Trials

My first band after moving to the US in 2006.
